Home Sweet Home!
Recap: End of day 1a of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event and I am off to bed after bagging 74.500 chips. I am in 11th place. More to follow below.
One of the most common questions I am asked is: Where is your home?
My usual answer is that I was born in Denmark, I live in Monaco and I spend a lot of time in Vegas and I am therefore connected to all three places. That answer however deserves some elaboration.
Right now, I am at home at the Mediterranean Sea. I have just been hanging out with my Sister and Erik123 (Sagstroem) at my shack in Monaco and now I am in Cannes to play in the Partouche Poker Tour Final (for those of you who are not that proficient in Geography Cannes is located about 30 miles from Monaco). Monaco is a really good base for a guy with such an unsteady life. Contrary to what most people think Monte Carlo is nice and quiet, and I am able to do as little as possible when I am at home down here.
Before Monaco I was in Copenhagen, which I also consider home-ish despite the fact that I am only in there one or two months a year. In Denmark I get to go out, meet friends and family and speak Danish!
Vegas is basically where I work. The city is always vibrant, offering whatever you might be looking for, be it gambling, partying or any other activity…
Anyway - back to Cannes and the Partouche Poker Tour Finale.
Along with Chris Ferguson, Scotty Nguyen and several other name pros I sat down for day 1a yesterday feeling hungry to get my tournament poker engine in gear again. It was a long day. We started at 3 PM and the day didn't end until 12 hours later. Luckily I had a very good day, which always makes it easier to fight off the fatigue. My stack went from 20k to 40k during the first three hours, from 40k to 60k during the next three hours and from 60k to 90k and chip leader status after nine hours of play. I was on a roll! Let's forget that I threw away 15k towards the end. The fact of the matter is that half the players are gone and I am sitting safely in the top half of the field.
If you wanna follow the tournament, polish your French and check out this site http://www.partouchepokertour.fr/blog/fr/.
Although I won't be playing today I will be at the Casino again for a book signing of the French version of my book titled "Chaque Main Revelee". Who knows, I might also have time to drop by Full Tilt and to meet up with a local female Facebook friend?!?
